Hello Friends! Let’s Explore Foça Together!
Hey everyone! Today, I’m excited to share my Foça trip with you. This beautiful coastal town in İzmir is the perfect destination for a peaceful getaway. In this post, I’ll tell you how to get there, what to do, and some of my favorite experiences from the trip!
How to Get to Foça by Public Transportation
If you're using public transport, here’s the best way to reach Foça. First, we traveled to Yeni Foça, and then we continued to Eski Foça. If you want to follow the same route, you can take:
-
İZBAN (İzmir’s suburban train) and the 745 bus
-
Or take the 660 and 750 buses
Once you arrive, get ready to be amazed by Foça’s breathtaking beauty!
Exploring Yeni Foça
As soon as you step into Yeni Foça, you’ll be enchanted by its charming streets leading to the sea. The coastline is lined with cozy cafés, where you can sit, sip your favorite drink, and simply watch the waves and listen to the sound of the sea.
If you love collecting souvenirs from your travels like I do, you’ll find plenty of lovely gift shops with unique handmade items. And of course, don’t forget to take a swim in the crystal-clear sea—it's the perfect way to refresh yourself!
A Scenic Journey to Eski Foça
To travel from Yeni Foça to Eski Foça, hop on the 664 bus from the station. This ride offers a breathtaking journey through stunning coastal and nature views—so be sure to grab a window seat!
What to Do in Eski Foça
Eski Foça has so many things to see and do, but since we had limited time, we chose to watch the sunset and enjoy some delicious ice cream by the sea.
If you’re looking for a great place to eat, I highly recommend Oscar Köftecisi. Their köfte are so delicious that I wouldn’t mind taking a long trip just to eat there again! If you love discovering local food gems, this is a must-visit spot.
Bonus: More Things to Do in Foça!
If you have more time, here are some extra activities you can enjoy:
-
Take a boat tour to explore the beautiful bays and see Siren Rocks, which are linked to the myth of Odysseus.
-
Visit Beşkapılar Castle, a historic landmark with stunning sea views.
-
Discover the local seafood restaurants—Foça is famous for its fresh fish and mezes!
-
Walk along the old streets and admire the traditional stone houses.
Foça is truly a hidden gem on the Aegean coast. Whether you're looking for a relaxing day by the sea or a taste of history and culture, this town has something for everyone.
